The Collobrières chestnut, harvested in the heart of the Massif des Maures in the Var, has a reputation that extends far beyond Provence. For centuries, this hilltop village has lived to the rhythm of its chestnut groves, and its confectioners have upheld a craft recognised throughout France. Maison Lilamand entrusts the production of this chestnut cream to one of these master confectioners, upholding the exacting standards that underpin all our choices.
The recipe is simple: chestnut pulp, sugar and natural vanilla extract. Nothing more. Made with 50% fruit, this cream has a smooth, velvety texture that can only be achieved through careful cooking. The woody sweetness of the chestnut unfolds on the palate, lifted by a touch of vanilla that enhances without overpowering. The flavour is rounded, warm and comforting — autumn captured in every spoonful.
For Maison Lilamand, offering this chestnut cream is a natural progression in our long-standing relationship with this fruit. Our glacé chestnuts, an exceptional confection, are among the most popular products in our range. With this cream, we offer another way to enjoy chestnut flavour in everyday life: a generous, spreadable form.
It is irresistible on buttered toast, in crêpes or pancakes, and also stirs beautifully into yoghurt. It can be used to fill Mont Blancs or tart cases, flavour homemade ice cream, accompany fromage blanc, or simply be enjoyed by the spoonful by those with a sweet tooth.
